The Story
2 lives. 2 creatives. 2 goofballs. 2 preachers who accepted their callings in their youth. 2 children who loved their families. 2 overachievers. 2 souls working hard to heal within while helping others heal at the same time. 2 leaders. 2 profoundly similar and yet distinctly different people, orbited around the same circles, the same churches, the same cities, and the same people for over 30 years, and yet — never met.Â
2024 would change everything. After meeting on Instagram (a true millennial love story) they finally put the pieces together of just how close their worlds were intertwined and a friendship began as they talked about ministry, family, and their career goals. Later on it became clear (to Desho’nai first as she loves to point out) that their coming together was about more than being just friends or ministry peers, but that they were brought together to build a life together. Life chats turned into life planning. Casual hangouts turned into dates. Mutual respect turned into falling in love. In January 2025 they officially began dating and in May Princeton asked Desho’nai to be his girlfriend, on the same day as his parents 31st wedding anniversary. The two have been inseparable ever since.Â
As they look back, they both see a love story written by God: that He was working in them and through them all along for this moment of destiny. They were just living until destiny met time. They are held together by their friendship, the joy and safety they feel with each other, Â their shared values, their shared sense of ministry and communal purpose, and an abiding belief that this marriage is perfect for them, but also bigger than them.Â
